NZ Govt-funded 'HEEADSSS Check' is being used on kids aged 12+ in schools, with doctors and more.
What is particularly concerning is that unless parents explicitly opt-out, permission is automatically granted for children to be assessed by a doctor, nurse, teacher...
And because of 'confidentiality' rules, this can be done without the parent ever knowing!
Medical students are also being taught during their training how to conduct the assessment.
What is the HEEADSSSS Assessment?
The HEEADSSS assessment acronym stands for an assessment on a child's:
- Home
- Education employment
- Eating
- Activities
- Drugs
- Sexuality
- Suicide / Depression
- Safety
Whilst the schools and NZ Health system are labelling it a 'Health and Wellbeing' Check, it is actually more a 'psychosocial' tool.
With what purpose you may ask?
When one looks at the questions, (which a number of independent experts have done, see below), it seems potentially more like an INVASIVE GOVERNMENT DATA COLLECTION tool than a health assessment.
You may well be rather shocked to hear some of the assessment questions.
For example, would you feel OK about your 12 / 13 year old being asked (without your knowledge):
- If they have tried to make themselves sick after eating?
- Have they ever taken medication to control weight?
- What is their sexual activity?
- What is their porn use?
- What is their understanding of consentual sex?
- What is their sexual preference?
The question many parents may wish to ask is:

Are you aware this is happening? (many are not)

What questions are your kids being asked?

Why are they being asked these questions?

If this information concerns you, ask your school principal if they are conducting any ‘wellbeing’ surveys on your child, and get the names of these surveys so you can do your research on them. Also ask if they are using ‘Goodspace Schools’ online surveys.
